The most relevant military logistics event in the world
Senior Advisor, UAE Ministry of Defence
Building on the success of Defence Logistics Middle East 2009, held under the generous patronage of the United Arab Emirates Ministry of Defence, IQPC is delighted to announce a brand new conference – Joint Military Logistics – which will run between 28th - 30th June 2009 in Muscat, Oman.
Focused purely on the issues surrounding developing an integrated, tri-service approach to military logistics, this event will be a unique opportunity for the Armed Forces of Oman (SAF) and the wider Gulf region to gather together with international speakers and focused solution providers.

Key benefits of attending
“Joint logistics is the coordinated use, synchronization, and sharing of two or more Military Departments’ logistic resources to support the joint force” (US Joint Logistics Doctrine, July 2008).
Military operations require massive support. The sheer volume and weight of the stores, ammunition and personnel to be moved places a huge challenge on those navy, army and air force logistic organisations to get what is needed, when it is needed, to where it is needed without fail. The right relationship between support organisations and the supported forces is critical to the success of operations.
Attend Joint Military Logistics 2009 to address key issues including
- Coordinating airlift capability, afloat support and ground-based logistics to provide comprehensive logistics support
- Understanding the theory behind joint logistics and logistics transformation
- Achieving total asset visibility
- Optimising end-to-end joint supply chain
- Operational perspectives on in-theatre logistics
- Improving the planning, execution and control of logistics operations
- Establishing a single joint service logistics information system
Speakers include
- Major General Brian Geehan (Ret.), Former Director, J-4, US CENTCOM
- Philippe Martou, Deputy Chief of Aviation Service – OMLA, World Food Programme
- Colonel Freek van der Vaart, Director, Movement Coordination Centre Europe
- Professor Matthew Uttley, Dean of Academic Studies & Head of Department, Kings College
- Dr. David Moore , Course Director, Acquisitions & Logistics Unit, UK Defence Academy
- Jonathan Richards , Study Leader, Tactical Logistic Analysis Team, DSTL, UK MoD
